I have 20 years of counseling experience in a variety of settings. I use my clinical skills to address many of the needs of adults and teens in transition, including issues of personal growth, life and career purpose, relationship and family issues, stress management, grief recovery. My work also includes symptom management, pain reduction, surgery preparation and issues of life-threatening illness. I completed two yearlong training programs in Satir Family therapy at the Satir Institute of the Southeast. I also use Interactive Guided Imagery(SM) (training from Academy of Guided Imagery), which is a method of using inner resources for psychological and physical healing and transformation. I use an integrated approach, often in conjunction with other practitioners such as body/energy practitioners, dietitians, physicians, psychiatrists, pastors, spiritual directors, movement therapists and health coaches.
I am currently in a certification program for Somatic Attachment Training and Experience. You can learn more about this approach here: http://dianepooleheller.com
I use and build on client’s strengths, as well as work to help develop new coping strategies as part of working through problems and reaching goals.
